The Freedom Festival barge has been towed off the South Arm, the carnival ride trucks are back on the road, and Main Street looks like Main Street again. If you live here, that transition matters. It's the point every summer where East Jordan stops running on one big weekend and goes back to running on a weekly rhythm most visitors never see. The rest of July and August isn't a lull. It's the part of the calendar residents actually plan around.
The trick is knowing which two mornings and evenings hold the town together, which single weekend to protect in August, and which drive to save for the Sunday your out-of-town family shows up. Everything else is filler.

The East Jordan Farmers Market runs Thursdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sportsman's Park, right off M-32 by the bridge, from mid-May through October.
