Giving Back

Each year, the number of children who need warm clothes for winter increases. Team O'Brien donates to Eta Nu to help purchase jackets, snow pants, boots, hats, and mittens for local children who attend Boyne Elementary as well as the Head Start & Early Learners Program. Team O'Brien has been supporting Eta Nu Charities for a decade and has collectively donated more than $74,000 to their charitable programs in Boyne City.

Sailing is so much more than sailing. We joined Ben at the Charlevoix marina to present a donation to the Warrior Sailing Program, an organization that builds camaraderie with injured service members and veterans by providing maritime education and skill building on the water. Have you been to the Bergmann Resale Shop in Charlevoix? The Bergmann Center provides services that enable individuals with mental and physical challenges ways to become active and involved members of the community, and they've been making a difference since the 1950s. Team O'Brien agents donated a portion of their commissions to support their programs. Learn more about the Bergmann Center here.

This fund is used each year to help nonprofit partners serve neighbors in need, but it can also be put to use in response to urgent and unexpected events that impact Charlevoix County, such as the economic recession of 2009 and the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. In 2009, Charlevoix Community worked with the Frey Foundation to create this fund. Since then, more donors have supported the fund, providing human service organizations with resources to help families and individuals make ends meet. Donations help stock the shelves of food pantries, provide home heating and electricity, and purchase shoes and boots for children. Find out more here.

Dedicated to the protection and care of all animals, the Charlevoix Area Humane Society is an independent non-profit 501(c)3 no-kill animal shelter that has been serving pets and their humans in Charlevoix County since 1974.

Good Neighbors Food Pantry of Boyne City brings the whole community together to serve people experiencing food insecurity. Doing so strengthens our community by providing opportunities for neighbors to help neighbors.
